RANDOM NOTES... ...The school itself... Everyone wears a bar coded ID tag. If you're late to class, you have to swipe the tag to get in. You also have to show the guards at the door (photo IDs) to get into the building. No ID in the building means you get shot on sight. 2 guards at each door, several patroling halls at any given time. Permitted to use lethal force to remove intruders. Metal detectors are located just inside each outter door. Backpacks are allowed, but they have to be school issue. All supplies (pencils, paper, books, whatever) have to be approved by school. Uniforms are worn by both the staff and the students. White shirt, black pants or skirt, ID tag. Backpacks are black. Black shoes. No unnatural hair colors or makeup, no oddly colored hair ties or scrunchies, nothing that would draw attention to yourself or disrupt others. One strike and you're out rule. Must maintain 2.5 GPA or get booted. No backtalking to teachers, guards, or administrators. Teachers can request expulsion. Computers are built into all desks. Login by swiping ID card. ...The characters... Linn Brenton Junior in high school. Went to public school for a while but had a traumatic experience and was moved to Anderson Memorial. Parents can barely afford housing, much less private school. Acts as outsider in story. ...Plot... Still working on it. ^^; Linn goes to her new school, discovers it's a really scary place (even though everyone else seems to think it's great) and tries to change it. I don't know whether to end it happily, with Linn making a positive change, unhappily, with Linn getting screwed over, or in chaos, with Linn, like, blowing the place up. More notes as they come along... --nem0, 2-27-2000
